Indigenous Agro-Ecosystems, Knowledge Restoration and Conservation Program
Life honouring permaculture organization.Indigenous Agro-Ecosystems Restoration is a not-for-profit network of Permaculture trainers and practitioners dedicated to introducing self-sufficient, regenerative agricultural practices and conserving and restoring Indigenous agroecosystems throughout East and Central Africa. They apply natural permaculture principles to re-design idle, dry, and degraded land to regenerate the land and regenerate the people.
Since 2018 the work has included free workshops and training courses, including online, offsite, and onsite trainings for children, youth, pupils, students, people with special needs, and refugees. At each course, the students install food systems and indigenous seed banks, and are taught how to maintain them.
Mission Statement
Loss and destruction of Indigenous Ecosystems is a major challenge experienced in the areas bordering lake Victoria Region. We apply natural sectoral and zoning, principles, ethics, compartmentalized planning, re-patterning techniques to re-design idle, dry and degraded land.Keywords
