Long Way Homestead

Life honouring textiles website.

Long way Homestead is a family-owned and operated fibre farm and wool mill in Eastern Manitoba. It provides fibre processing from local farmers, supporting producers, makers, and dyers within the regional fibre shed. Farm tours and educational workshops also connect people with local food and clothing production.

Through advocacy, research and education the team at Long Way Homestead are working to build resiliency in our small and medium-scale Canadian fibre economy.

Small batches of breed-specific yarn are produced at the mill highlighting the unique qualities and colour of individual fibre animals. This helps to protect rare breeds of sheep, and supports businesses by making processing accessible to small-scale fibre farmers.
